This week’s post is slightly different to usual – as always, I hope that something here inspires you.
I read a post about self-love by Tiffany Nicole and one of the tips was to write a love letter to yourself. I laughed at the idea at first. I spend so much time writing about how I can improve and develop and all of the things I want to learn and accomplish that I often forget to take a minute to appreciate who I am and what makes me that person. So, after some thought, I grabbed a pen and paper and wrote to myself, complimenting myself on the things I hope are true.
I want to start off by saying thank you for being you.
Thank you for having an opinion on anything and everything and making sure that someone knows it.
Thank you for being confident despite not always realising it.
Thank you for staying strong, not for anyone else but yourself- you deserve it.
Thank you for appreciating the hard times and for writing down your lessons. Sometimes you have to refer to your own advice to get through tough times- thank you for documenting it all.
Thank you for accepting that you need to try new things- you’ve learnt so much since then.
Thank you for learning that you don’t need to be afraid of the unknown- for trusting that God hasn’t forgotten you and He won’t leave you behind.
Thank you for being driven, you’ve accomplished a lot because of it, never forget!
Thank you for learning how to embrace the love that people show you. You’ve still got a long way to go, but you made life easier when you stopped trying to do it alone.
Thank you for recognising that you could be better and for your desire to evolve into your best self. But always remember that you are awesome just the way you are!
In the past 21 years, you have seen plenty of lessons and blessings, I pray for much more.
