I’ve noticed that purpose is something that many people, including myself struggle with identifying, but I’m also learning that it doesn’t have to be a daunting task. Chances are you won’t be able to make a list of things you like, circle one in red pen and follow that path for the rest of your life, it isn’t that easy unfortunately. What we do need to understand however, is that we can’t identify our purpose without first knowing who we are.
I wish that this post included a step by step guide on how to find your purpose- I’m still trying to find mine. It’s a stressful thing to consider and some people never find their purpose: this is okay, however, it is preferred by most to know what their calling in life is, at least for those of us that believe we have one.

Enjoying the moment relieves a lot of this stress. Appreciating life’s experiences, facing its challenges and soaking up as much knowledge as we can along the way helps us to learn about ourselves. Read here about learning from every situation.
Through life’s lessons we aim to grow and mature, we adopt better attitudes and inherit new skills, preparing us for whatever it is our purpose may be. It is better to be prepared for an opportunity and not have one, than to have an opportunity and not be prepared.

I love this quote because I view success as a big thing, an end goal, where as I view being of value as small things that I can do everyday. It is a lot easier to try to be of value at least once and day and have a sense of accomplishment, than to try to plan for a big victory at the end with no direction or guidance.
So, my advice to you on pursuing purpose, is to pursue small things in hopes that it will help you discover the big things, because chances are you aren’t ready for the big things yet anyway.
