Pancake Face

I’m used to having lemon and sugar sprinkled on my pancakes but after doing a bit of research I decided to add some honey and olive oil and rub it all over my face.

This homemade face scrub is said to be good at removing acne scars which many people my age suffer from; I plan to keep you updated if I notice any differences in my skin. Below is the recipe.

What you need*:
Olive Oil (1 Tsb)
Brown Sugar
Honey (1 Tsb)
Juice of 1/2 a lemon
Container (for storage)
*all measurements can be adjusted to create a face scrub that suits your personal preference
What to do:
1: Squeeze the juice from the lemon directly into your container and add your olive oil and honey and mix until the oil no longer settles on the top and the consistency is fairly thick.
2: Add in your sugar, it is recommended that you use half a cup but you can alter this amount to suit the consistency you desire for your face scrub.
3: Rub it into your face/body in gentle circular motion.
4: Leave for 10 mins, then rinse off with warm water and moisturise as usual.
5: Suggested use is twice a week- this simply depends on how bad your acne scars may be.
Why it’s supposed to work:
The natural citric acid found in lemon juice helps to remove dead skin cells, making it an effective exfoliant, creating a brighter and smoother complexion.
Brown sugar contains acids to help fight bacteria whilst helping to lock moisture into your skin.
Olive oil, as it is well known, is an extremely good moisturiser.
Honey is packed full of antioxidants that will neutralise the free radicals in your skin to help promote healthy glowing skin.
After first use I noticed that my skin was incredibly soft so I’ll definitely continue to use it! And I love the smell and taste 😛
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, it’s practically free in comparison to what I’ve paid for similar products on the high street!!!
